Translated from Norwegian by Anne Bruce.
This is the second book in the series following Detective Hanne Wilhelmsen. Just a short snip of a book at just over 200 pages, it is not the sort of crime book that you sink your teeth into. rather, if you enjoy your crime like the BBC’s old show New Tricks, you’re going to enjoy this book.
A series of blood spattered crime scenes are found by the Oslo police with alarming regularity. All that stands out is a series of strange numbers at every scene. Hanne Wilhelmsen set about solving the crime with Hakon Sand and Billy T. Interspersed with the crime are snippets of Wilhelmsen’s personal life which keeps things interesting. Everything falls neatly into place and the ending is satisfactory.
The book was originally written in 1994, so you have to forgive the lack of technology that is taken for granted now. It is a read in one session kind of book.
