Graphic novels are really just a fancy term for a comic book. Nothing wrong with a comic book in and of itself, but really, not deserving of the word novel.
This book is the 136 page comic version of The Kite Runner. Its as unsatisfying as reading a Readers Digest Condensed Novel. Sure, you hit all the major plot points but at what cost? Why would you read a comic about The Kite Runner when you could read the original and truly read a work of art?
I cant even say that the artwork attempted to make up for the deficiency of the work because, well, it really didn’t.
Go read the real thing. It is worth the time and effort. No. It deserves your time and effort.
